dbaTOOLS/Analyzer Version 62.0 for Unisys MCP Systems
dbaTOOLS/Analyzer is a software product for monitoring and tuning Unisys MCP systems - DMS II and EAE databases. Developed by Jim Stewart, an internationally recognized expert on MCP and Client/Server technology, it is the replacement for DBAnalyzer, and it is the only product of its type implemented using client/server architecture. It consists of a collection module which runs on the MCP system, and an analysis module that runs on a PC.
The collection module runs on a Unisys MCP system, and collects data about DMSII databases. The user requests the type and amount of data to be collected and the time that it is to be collected, using a parameter file. The collection module also has the capability to keep databases opened, to start WFL jobs, to issue DMS II Visible DBS commands and to start DMS II Utility jobs. The collection module collects both statistical information and information about the physical structures in the database.
The analysis module runs on a PC under Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, and is implemented using Microsoft's Visual Basic .Net. The analysis module loads the data collected on the MCP system into a database for reporting and analysis. Because the data is stored in a database, both historical and current information can be analyzed and compared. Dataset population growth is calculated based upon the historical data and is used to project future limiterrors. The analysis module provides the following:
